Considered by many to have defined Gen X and create a cultural dialogue in the 7 seasons it ran from 1993 to 1997, this revival aims to do the same in an updated world with updated themes.

Series creator Mike Judge returns to reimagine the series under Comedy Central. Judge will be writing, producing, and voice-acting for the reboot.

“We are thrilled to be working with Mike Judge and the great team at 3 Arts again as we double down on adult animation at Comedy Central,” said Chris McCarthy, President of Entertainment & Youth Brands, ViacomCBS Domestic Media Networks. “Beavis and Butt-Head were a defining voice of a generation, and we can’t wait to watch as they navigate the treacherous waters of a world light-years from their own.”

Judge’s deal with Comedy Central calls for 2 seasons of the show, as well as spin-offs and specials.

“It seemed like the time was right to get stupid again,” Judge said of the revival.
