Bataan representative Geraldine Roman was awarded by a US magazine as one of 100 Leading Global Thinkers, according to local reports!
The publication, “Foreign Policy”, commended Roman for “being a challenger for redefining fitness to govern”, as the first transgender woman elected into Philippine Congress.
The representative was also cited for lobbying for an anti-discrimination bill in the country, which has been stalled for over a decade. The Anti-Discrimination Bill based on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity aims to protect members of the LGBTQ community by banning discrimination practices against them.
You go, girl!
