For centuries, music, poetry and spoken word performances have been a part of our society. While music has long been popular in the country, the art of spoken word and poetry have been gaining popularity in recent years, with the initiative of artist groups, as well as the growing number of venues embracing the art.

Luna Production, which strongly supports the propagation of music and the arts, then decided to team up with several groups and individual artists in celebrating a night where original music, poetry and literature meet.

Entitled “Baka Pwede Pa,” the event is a gathering of spoken word artists from The Artidope, The Spires and The Benildean Press Corps, and of equally talented musicians – Jensen Gomez, SudBallecer, Agsunta, Rob and the Hitmen, There’s Era and First Light. Set to be held at the Jess and Pat’s Rooftop Café in Marikina, February 25, 2017 will surely be a lovely night filled with beautiful performances.

Witness all these great artists for just P250 door charge, inclusive of one free drink. Door opens at 6:30pm and event starts at 7pm.

BENILDEAN PRESS CORPS (BPC)

The Benildean Press Corps (BPC), under the Student Publications Office (SPO), is the official student-journalist organization of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. We cater to the needs of the Benildean community by providing various services in the fields of journalism, visual and literary arts. Each school year, we publish The Benildean (magazine), and annual issues of Dekunstrukt (photography folio), Horizons (art folio), and Shades of Gray (literary folio).

ARTIDOPE

Created in September 2015, The Artidope is a collective of Filipino artists from various art forms which aims to promote local talent via social media and other such platforms. The Artidope currently creates and organizes spoken word and music events, art exhibits, and the like.

THE SPIRES

As a student publication, The Spires aims to foster creative writing and artistic freedom, to express the inner psyche of the Bedan community, to confront the complexities of human life and to be the mark that will make San Beda the impression of literary freedom. As a student organization, The Spires aims to represent the Bedan community through the use of the art of writing and other modes as basis for competitiveness in a local and global scale. The Spires would be the medium in which the Bedan community can channel their own ideology and philosophies. As a select student arm, The Spires would be the front of literary excellence in San Beda and would be the ambassadors of literary expressionism.
