Baguio to accept tourists again, here’s what you need to know

Baguio will welcome tourists from Region 1 starting September 22. This is to help restart leisure businesses in the city since it closed down for seven months because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to presidential spokesman Harry Roque, those who wish to visit Baguio will have to register online before they can enter the city.

The city will only be accepting tourists who submit the necessary documents before traveling. These documents will be done at the tourists’ own expense. They will also need to present their QR code before they enter to limit their exposure to the virus.

With this, Baguio will be limiting visitors to the city at 200 per day. Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong said that they will not be allowing “DIY tours” during this time to help prevent the spread of the virus.
