Amid the call to support the local animation industry, award-winning independent film “Saving Sally” is dropping on Netflix this month!
“Saving Sally,” which premiered in 2016 as an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival, is a live-action animated film directed by Avid Liongoren which follows the story of an amateur comic book artist Marty (Enzo Marcos) who falls for gadget inventor Sally (Rhian Ramos) and has since acted as her “protector” against the many “villains” in her life, including her abusive parents and her jerky boyfriend Nick (TJ Trinidad).
It went on to become one of the top-grossing films in the festival and garnered multiple nominations and awards from Fantasporto 2017 and the Asia Pacific Screen Awards 2017.
It will premiere on the streaming platform starting October 15.
