Arnel Pineda: A Whole Lotta Love

The middle set was the “Love” side. Pineda and his band played some acoustic ballads including the John Denver tune “Annie’s Song”, Billy Joel’s “She’s Always a Woman”, N’Sync’s “This I Promise You” and the David Foster & Olivia Newton John collaboration “Best of Me”.

Arnel also sang some originals including his band, Zoo’s “Ewan Ko Ba”

He saw fellow singer, Rachel Ann Go in the audience and asked her if they could do a number together. She obliged and they sang an impromptu jam of the John Farnham version of a Beatles classic “Help!” together.

Somebody from the audience shouted “Journey! Journey!” but unfortunately, he told the crowd that he is barred from singing Journey songs when on a solo tour due to his contractual obligations with the band.

After the “Love” set, they continued with more classic rock and roll tunes including Whitesnake’s “Here We Go Again”, Led Zeppelin’s “Black Dog” and the Eagles’ classic “Hotel California”

They were joined on stage by 13 year old prodigy drummer, Alexey Poblete and Yosha bassist Karel Honasan on a Rush number entitled “Tom Sawyer”.
