Ariana Grande’s beloved grandmother, Marjorie Grande, affectionately known as Nonna, has passed away at the age of 99.

The singer-songwriter and her family announced the heartbreaking news on June 18. According to a statement shared by Ariana’s mother, Joan, Nonna passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones.
“Marjorie (Nonna) Grande passed peacefully in her home and was surrounded by her family and loved ones for every moment of her last few weeks,” she noted. “We thank you for your love, support and for respecting our privacy as we grieve and celebrate her beautiful, extraordinary life.”

Ariana was known for having a close relationship with her grandmother, who frequently accompanied her to various events over the years. Nonna was even featured in Ariana’s song “Ordinary Things,” which made it to the Billboard Hot 100, making her the oldest artist ever to appear on the chart at the age of 98.
