Is there something about the -ber months that just puts break-ups on the mind? Aside from couples actually breaking up right and left we’ve also been having an onslaught of public figures talking about breakups or being single. And of course, musicians singing about their exes.

While we can’t say for sure (because the song isn’t even out yet!), it looks like The Weeknd is following suit with an upcoming song. According to the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), he recently registered a song titled “Like Selena” and it doesn’t take rocket scientists to put two and two together.
Since Selena Gomez and The Weeknd did date for 10 months back in 2017, saying that the song might be inspired by her is simply an educated guess. Pretty ironic too, since Selena just came out with her own song about an ex.

So when are we going to hear this song that might just be about Selena Gomez? Well, The Weeknd did just drop a new single called “Heartless.” So here’s to hoping more will follow suit sometime soon!
