Congratulations, Angelica Panganiban!
The 31-year-old actress won as this year’s Best Actress for her role in Maryo J. Delos Reyes’ The Unmarried Wife at the 65th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards, held at the Philippine Science Center Auditorium in Quezon City.
The Unmarried Wife was released in 2016 by Star Cinema, where Angelica played the role of Anne in the throes of a complicated marriage to Geoff (played by Dingdong Dantes), after he is caught having an affair. Meanwhile, she meets Bryan (played by Paulo Avelino), who falls in love with her while still at odds with her husband.
Angelica took to Instagram to thank FAMAS, Star Cinema, and her fans, dedicating her win to those who have risen above heartbreak.
