Angel Locsin went on her Instagram to voice out her concern over the looming ABS-CBN Network shutdown by paying tribute to the people who will be affected the most: the behind-the-scenes employees.

Isang pakiusap. ‘Think before you click.’ KAMI po ang ABS-CBN,” Angel wrote in the caption of her post featuring several photos of herself with the network’s employees.

(“I have a request. ‘Think before you click.’ All the cameramen, utility, art department, technical department, production, actors, directors, caterers, producers, lightmen, crew, tents, etc. Just a few of the thousands of employees inside the network. WE are ABS-CBN.”)

(“In the many years I have been with ABS-CBN, I knew and loved all the people here. I have listened and known their stories — what they save up for, what their debts are, who got sick… they work hard in everything just for their families.”)

She shared that although she did not renew her contract this year in preparation for her wedding with Neil Arce, she remained firm that she will “stand” by these workers whom she regards as “family.” She hoped that all those who are calling for the network’s shutdown would think about the lives and families of the thousands who will lose their jobs.

(“I love them all and this isn’t drama, but it’s a question of who will suffer more in this situation. Before we speak, we must think if our words will destroy the lives of countless people. If this is the right solution.”)

We have families that rely on us kagaya nyo rin po. Konting pag-unawa lang po. Isang pakiusap,” she ended her post with the hashtag #NoToABSCBNShutdown.

(“If there really is something that was done wrong, let’s make it right. A call for the closure of a network will not help us and our families. Just like you, we have families that rely on us. A little understanding, please. This is my one request.”)
