Via a Twitter exchange, Marvel character Wave designer Leinil Yu just said that their team would love to have Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin portray the first Pinay superhero Wave.
It started when Angel tweeted, “I’m excited to learn more about this character! I ❤️ that her weapon of choice is a Kampilan, w/c is believed to be the sword Lapu-Lapu used to strike down Ferdinand Magellan. So, ?? for that! Regarding her costume, I wonder what’s the inspiration behind the design?”
Leinil Yu then answered, “It’s a collaboration of ideas between me, Greg [Pak,] and Marvel editorial:). Would love to see you as wave, Angel!”
Angel even posted how grateful she is for Leinil Yu’s reply. She posted on her Instagram stories, “Can’t stop smiling. Thank you, Sir @leinilyu for the wonderful reply.”
