Following the surprising proposal of college basketball player Ricci Rivero to ask young celebrity Andrea Brillantes to be his girlfriend, Andrea has found herself to be the subject of many rumors and criticism as fans wonder about the truth of what really happened between her and Seth Fedelin.
Now unable to keep her silence any longer, Andrea decided to address a ton of issues in a 10-minute live video on Monday, April 10, where she also finally confirmed that she and Seth did have a romantic relationship until their breakup last year.
“We broke up last year. Early October ‘yun. It was a painful breakup, but it was a mutual decision, ‘yung paghihiwalay namin. We both loved each other truly and deeply. We learned so much from each other, but in the end, we realized na we weren’t growing as individuals na,” she said. “We ended on good terms, at iyon naman ang importante.”

She took time to thank Seth for coming to her defense and expressing his happiness for her new love when the announcement broke out.
“I would like to say thank you kay Seth Fedelin for speaking up. Thank you, Ali, dahil kahit hanggang ngayon, hindi mo pa rin ako pinabayaan. Alam ko na these past few months ay napakahirap para sa atin, para sa ating dalawa, para sa ating lahat. I have mad respect for you dahil kinaya mo pa rin akong ipagtanggol kahit alam ko na gustung-gusto mo na rin magsalita.”
Andrea also clarified that they still “love each other as friends” and will continue to work with one another.
“We promised each other na magpapatuloy pa rin kami sa work namin. We love each other as friends and we also like the company of each other as actors. At gusto namin matupad ‘yung pinag-usapan namin two years ago tungkol sa mga pangarap namin,” she shared. “Nirirespeto ko si Seth Fedelin at nirirespeto ko ‘yung love team namin, at mahal na mahal namin ‘yung fans namin.”
In the rest of the live video, Andrea took time to address her reaction to the pictures of Seth at a Christmas party with their former “Kadenang Ginto” co-star Francine Diaz and her family. Andrea called it an “honest mistake” for showing her emotions publicly and learned her lesson of pausing and thinking things through before acting on her feelings.
She also denied all the allegations that she had cheated on Seth during their relationship and that she had confronted Francine at her dressing room amid their “feud.” She revealed having considered filing a legal complaint against those behind the rumor but eventually decided to just move on.
“I’m doing this for closure. I’m not asking you to believe in me. This is for everyone — closure for me, closure for my family, closure [for] their fans. Hindi niyo kailangan maniwala. You can do whatever you want with my statement, pero ito na ‘yun,” she added.
“Masaya na ang puso ko ngayon, at ipagdadasal ko na sana matutunan na rin nating lahat na maging masaya para sa iba.”
