An Anthony Bourdain Documentary is on its Way

Anthony Bourdain

The world was shocked at the passing of Anthony Bourdain in 2018. Now, we can relive his life in an upcoming documentary that is on its way.

The documentary is still untitled, but it has been in the works since last summer, just after the TV host’s death.

It will be directed by Morgan Neville, who won an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature for 20 Feet From Stardom.

According to Neville, “Anthony Bourdain did more to help us understand each other than just about anyone in the history of television. He connected with people not in spite of his flaws, but because of them. To have the opportunity to tell his story is humbling.”

Bourdain is beloved  for his off-the-beaten-track food excursions around the world. His stint in television hosting began with Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations which aired on the Travel Channel in 2005. He then premiered his award-winning CNN series Parts Unknown in 2014.

Bourdain was filming the 11th season of Parts Unknown when he was found dead from an apparent suicide inside his hotel room in France on June 8, 2018. He was 61 years old.

There’s no word when the documentary about the host will air, but it’s set to be released in theaters first, followed by screenings on CNN and the streaming platform HBO Max.
