Ambassadress of Beauty is a month-long series of activities organized by the UP Sigma Alpha Nu Sorority Manila, that aims to empower today’s generation of women.
In celebration of International Women’s Month, Ambassadress of Beauty was created to spread the sorority’s message on true beauty, strength, and women empowerment.
The month’s festivities was commenced last March 2, 2015, through the “Red Rose Movement”, an updated take on the Sorority’s traditional rose-giving event. With the theme “Together, we empower”, students participated by sending in their messages of upliftment which were subsequently printed and handed out to UP Manila’s female population.
Ambassadress of Beauty continues this March as the UP Sigma Alpha Nu Sorority Manila prepares two other events:
Ain’t No Hollaback Girl
Ain’t No Hollaback Girl: Unleash the Real You is a seminar and workshop on power-dressing, confidence-building, and women empowerment that will be held on March 20, 2015 (Friday) from 3:00PM-7:00PM, at the College of Arts and Sciences Little Theater in UP Manila. It will also feature this year’s batch of Ambassadresses of Beauty, nine chosen outstanding women of UP Manila.
The speakers of this event include top Filipino fashion bloggers, Kryz Uy of www.kryzuy.com and Shai Lagarde of www.lovechic.ph, Ms. Earth 2010 Rene McHugh, and UP student leader and athlete Alex Castro.
Beyond Cliche: Date Night
Beyond Cliche: Date Night is a culminating party that encourages women to live beyond social norms by encouraging them to make the first move. The party will be held at Sev’s Cafe in Taft, Manila. Tickets are priced at 250 pesos each, inclusive of food and free-flowing drinks, with performances by up and coming artists and bands such as Mara Asok, Bassjump, FFA and others. Proceeds of this event will go to the PGH Maternity Ward.
