New Year’s Eve has come and gone yet again. Were you able to see any cool fireworks this year? While fireworks generally almost always look great, nothing truly beats these stunning fireworks by Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang:

Cai Guo-Qiang has named these fireworks the “Sky Ladder” and it reaches 1,650ft into the sky. He says he has created them to thank his grandmother for supporting his dreams of becoming an artist.
Cai is now a contemporary artist living and working in New York City most famous for creating fireworks for the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
