Altered Carbon is set 300 years in the future, where mankind developed the technology to store human consciousness and transfer it between bodies so they can live forever. In the series, former United Nations elite soldier Takeshi Kovacs must solve a murder.
The series is based on Richard K. Morgan’s novel of the same name, which was published in 2002 and awarded the Philip K. Dick Award for Best Novel in 2003.
The adaptation will star Joel Kinnaman, Renee Elise Goldsberry, James Purefoy, Kristin Lehman, Martha Higareda, Dichen Lachman, Leonardo Nam, Hayley Law, Chris Conner, Ato Essandoh, and Trieu Tran. It is created and written by Laeta Kalogridis.
Altered Carbon will premiere on Netflix on February 2, 2018.
