The United States Embassy in Manila has canceled all scheduled immigrant and non-immigrant visa interviews until May 4, 2020, due to the extended lockdown in Luzon.
“We will resume routine visa services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time,” the embassy said in a statement.
“After the enhanced community quarantine is lifted in Metro Manila all affected applicants should reschedule their visa interviews through the Embassy call center by phone at (+632) 7792-8988 and (+632) 8548-8223, or through the online appointment system at ustraveldocs.com/ph,” it added.
The embassy clarified that fees will not be charged when changing visa appointments and that visa application fees are valid for up to one year.
It was on Tuesday, April 7, when Philippine President Duterte announced the extension of the enhanced community quarantine to April 30 amid the continuing rise in novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the country.
As of writing, there are 3,764 confirmed cases with 84 recoveries and 177 deaths.
