All-Female Ghostbusters Movie is the Most Disliked Trailer on YouTube

Reboots and sequels are very popular right now, but the new Ghostbusters is doing something radical. Besides rebooting the story of three male parapsychologists who start a ghost-catching business in New York, director Paul Fieg is casting actresses in the lead roles.

However, it’s not doing so well, as the official trailer is the most disliked trailer in YouTube history, and is the 23rd most disliked video overall. The survey was done by “MyTop100Videos” channel’s “Most Disliked Videos,” which was last updated on April 16.

To date, the YouTube trailer has 30 million views, with 220,118 likes and 643,867 dislikes.

The new Ghostbusters will be led by Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth. The film will follow Wiig as Erin Gilbert and McCarthy as Abby Yates, who write a book saying ghosts are real. Gilbert lands a teaching job at Columbia University, but she is laughed out of the school because of her book. Ghosts invade Manhattan, and Gilbert and Yates team up with a nuclear engineer (McKinnon) and a subway worker (Jones) to save New York. Hemsworth will play the receptionist.

Ghostbusters will premiere on July 15, 2016
