Agkaffetta: This Minimalist Cafe in Makati Highlights Coffee from Northern Philippines

In the days of Korean-style and Japanese-style cafes popping up all over the city, a homegrown cafe in Makati takes pride in highlighting Philippine coffee.

Agkaffetta is a minimalist roadside community cafe found in Makati, and if you know a bit of Iloko, you might find that “agkaffetta” sounds just like “ag kape ta”–meaning “let’s have coffee.”

Agkafetta started as a cold brew delivery service, but it grew into a physical cafe serving a wide variety of coffee and non-coffee beverages, as well as pastries and brunch bowls.

This quaint cafe takes pride in using ethically sourced coffee beans from Atok Benguet; from the farm of the award-winning Tayao Farms. You can really taste the difference in the quality of their coffee right from the first sip.

I was absolutely delighted with how great their coffee tasted! I also personally loved how their menu included a wide variety of unique beverages and non-dairy milk options.

Their Matcha Caramel Lava was such a pleasant surprise for me. This delicious drink features ceremonial-grade matcha with shots of espresso. I personally loved the richness that the caramel adds to this matcha drink.

I also enjoyed their Spanish Latte with oat milk! It was such a great drink and having non-dairy options on the menu is a huge plus for me.

Another highly-recommended drink from Agkaffetta is their Dirty Horchata which is made with oat, cinnamon, granola, rice milk, and two shots of espresso.

While their delicious drinks are already worth the visit, Agkaffetta’s massive cookies and croffles are must-tries, too. Their palm-sized cookies are an inch thick and perfectly baked, while the croffles feature mouthwatering flavors such as the Biscoff Croffle and the Nutella Croffle.
