After Getting Bashed, Kim Chiu Turns ‘Bawal Lumabas’ Into a Full Song

Kim Chiu has been known to always turn something negative into something positive and she does it again this time around. After her infamous rant about the ABS-CBN shutdown led her to become the target of mockery online, the 30-year-old Kapamilya actress decided to turn her viral statement into a full song.

With the help of DJ Squammy, who came up with the beat, and songwriter Adrian Crisanto, who went viral for penning the “open letter” to Kim to stay strong amid the backlash, Kim debuted her song through her YouTube vlog where she opened up about the harsh criticism she has faced the past week. She admitted that she had to stay off social media for a while to escape the negativity which she never expected to come her way. It was thanks to the work of DJ Squammy and Adrian that she was able to get back on her feet.

Game ako, this is something nice and positive out of the negative na nangyari noong mga nakaraang araw.”

“It’s okay that’s life, derecho lang, tuloy ang buhay. Gusto ko masaya lahat ng tao,” she added.

[“I recorded this song until 3 in the morning so that I can finish this and complete ‘Bawal Lumabas.’ Adrian wrote such beautiful lyrics and the beat is amazing. I’m game, this is something nice and positive out of the negative that has been happening the past days.

It’s okay, that’s life, we move forward, life goes on. I just want everyone to be happy.”]

Kim went viral for likening the situation about the National Telecommunications Commission’s “cease and desist” order on ABS-CBN Network to a classroom setting during the “Laban Kapamilya” Facebook live stream.

[“In the classroom, there are rules, you can’t go out. Okay, you can’t go out. But let’s say…if you comply and don’t go out but you do something about what they’re prohibiting you to do, like you fix the law in your classroom and submit it again, then you can now go out.”]

Kim later apologized for her incoherence and even made fun of herself for what she said.

Star Magic has already reportedly reached out to DJ Squammy and Adrian to officially release the song.
