“Adventure Time” Will Be Back!

Adventure Time Distant Lands 2

ALGEBRAIC!

HBO Max, an upcoming streaming platform, is set to bring back Adventure Time. It won’t be for new episodes, but for four specials that will be one-hour long each.

The specials will collectively be called Adventure Time: Distant Lands. Individually, they will be called BMO, Obsidian, Wizard City, and Together Again. BMO will tell the story of the little robot from the show, while Obsidian will see Marceline and Princess Bubblegum visit the Glass Kingdom to stop a catastrophe. Meanwhile, Wizard City is the origin story of Peppermint Butler as a Wizard School student, and Together Again follows Finn and Jake as they go on the most important adventure of their lives.

BMO and Obsidian are said to be available for streaming next year, followed by the last two.

Adventure Time was created by Pendleton Ward for Cartoon Network in 2010. The show followed the adventures of Jake the Dog and Finn the Human as they navigate the post-apocalyptic and magical Land of Ooo. Despite being aimed at children, it has also become popular with teenagers and adults.

The show has won eight Emmy Awards before it ended in 2018.
