When in Manila, running is seen as one of the best forms of exercise and stress relief out there. After all, it is never too cold to run in Manila and there are so many places to run in Manila nowadays, such as Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
Because of this, it really isn’t any wonder why Adidas has chosen BGC as their venue for the annual Adidas King of the Road running event. Now on its 14th year, the Adidas King of the Road running event will take place on September 30, where runners from all over are encouraged to join.
This year, the Adidas King of the Road running event will have three main categories – 5K, 10K and 16.8K – and two sub-categories – the Closed category for Filipino nationals, and the Open category for any nationality. If you are a ‘halfie’ or hold dual passports (like me!), you can choose any sub-category for the Adidas King of the Road event.
The Adidas King of the Road launch was hosted by the witty Boys’ Night Out DJs – Tony Toni, Slick Rick and Sam YG!
Of course, the top finishers of the Adidas King of the Road running event will win great prizes and everybody who participates will get to bring home an Adidas King of the Road medal.
It doesn’t end there, either! The top winners from the 16.8KM Closed category will be hailed Adidas King of the Road and Queen of the Road. They will also represent the Philippines at the Adidas King of the Road Southeast Asia Championship in Singapore (that’s an all-expense paid trip, by the way!).
The best part is that the Adidas King of the Road running event in Singapore will take place at its newest iconic landmark: the Gardens by the Bay. How awesome is that?
Also, as with last year’s Adidas King of the Road running event, Adidas singlets will be given out in multiple colors to showcase the vibrancy of running across the region. The race fees are as follows: Php1,050 for 5KM and 10KM, and Php1,300 for 16.8KM.
