ABBA Aims To Release New Music This 2020

Nearly four decades after ABBA split up and promised they would never reunite, the Swedish disco group might finally be releasing new music.

Although it was confirmed way back in 2018 that the group had reunited in the studio, we still haven’t actually seen any proof of that. At the time, they teased the title of two different songs that have yet to be released: “I Still Have Faith In You” and “Don’t Shut Me Down”.

Björn Ulvaeus mentioned a possible release in September or October 2019 which, obviously, never came to light. The latest developments are of Benny Andersson talking about the possibility of a 2020 release when questioned by the press about the new songs.

“They’re coming, yeah I would say so. Yes, that’s a good question. They’re coming this year. I’m guessing after the summer,” Andersson says. “But I can only guess because I’m not really sure. But I would think so.”

On whether he can promise that the new music will arrive this year Andersson says that “one shouldn’t promise anything, but if I were to decide myself, it would be September.”

“I can’t make that decision alone,” he continues. “But that’s what we’re aiming for.”
