Spiral takes you on a journey through time to discover timeless Filipino traditions, crafts and heirloom cuisine refined by women this 9th of May until 17th of May at Spiral.Â
Witness live demonstrations from women artisans from Luzon – from an Abel IIoco weaver from Paoay, Ilocos Norte, barong embroiderer from Taal, Batangas, basket weaver from Manila. Guests will be invited to take part in live demonstrations at Spiral during lunch and dinner from 10th May until 17th May where they will get the chance to learn more about the rich traditions of weaving and embroidery in the Philippines.Â
The mother’s legacy will continue with the culinary traditions – Spiral’s female chefs will be preparing local culinary favorites. The Spiral master chefs and team will also present the secret recipes of three generations of mothers in their family.
Spiral will have a Filipino fiesta ambiance with traditional Ilocano dishes being on offer such as sinugba, pinakbet, longanisa, lechon and an empanada live cooking station. Editha Dacuycuy, pioneer of dragon fruit farming will be giving a sampling of dragon fruit products such as cookies and wine produced in Burgos, Ilocos Norte. There will also be a sampling of cornik which is famous from this region.
Discover the art of floral expression as our resident stylist Larry Pagsanjan bring out the florist in you as you create your own botanical creation with floral arrangement workshops on the 10th of May for dinner and May 11th for brunch.
A Mother’s Day Legacy is in collaboration with the Provincial government of locos Norte, Bergamo and S.C. Vizcarra.

A Mother’s Legacy Fashion Show at Spiral
Women artisans will be honoured this May at Spiral from women chefs, craftswomen to captains of industry. Witness a fashion show dedicated to showcasing the works of the finest female weavers from Ilocos Norte, called Abel Iloco, a cotton loom woven textile with a rich tradition dating back to 1572. Designer Ryan Madamba who hails from Ilocos Norte will be giving Abel Iloco, considered to be the local tweed a modern twist by incorporating it in his luxury resort and evening wear collection.Â
The fashion show on the 13th of May at Spiral will also honor Filipina leaders that were named as Sofitel’s remarkable mothers.
