A Letter to my Daughter this Mother’s Day

I have to be honest, it’s been challenging to raise you. At a time of a global pandemic, I am limited to give you the world. All I can do is try my best to keep you safe. Since you were born, all I wanted to do is to show you how wonderful the world is. I wanted to show you millions of reasons to love life but we have to slow down for now.

Having you came as a surprise but it has been the most wonderful surprise I got in my life. You came in such wonderful timing and since carrying you in my womb, I never felt alone again. You completed me, you filled a void and you have put me back together when I thought I’d be forever broken. You saved me from loneliness and every day with you has been such joy.

When I first heard your heartbeat, you had fixed me. You were what I needed all along. You gave me hope and have been my reason for living.

I never knew love could be so fulfilling and unconditional. I never thought I could sacrifice earthly desires and be contented with a simple life with you. I have become the best version of myself because I wanted to be the best mother for you.

Every sound, smile, and move you make had taught me how magical life can be.

I wish I could give you the world and all that you would ever need, but most of all, I wish I could raise you to be a good person and who never fear to live.

I hope you will be able to read this when you are old enough and know that I always love you.
