After the highly successful “Earthday Jam 2017” held last April, Earthday Jam Foundation embarks on another yet unique environmental undertaking. This time, it will be in celebration of the World Environment Day and the Philippine Environment Month.
Dubbed “A FAIR WITH NATURE,” the activity is in partnership with theEnvironmental Management Bureau of DENR, University of the Philippines. and the Office of QC Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte. It is scheduled on JUNE 23 at the UP SUNKEN Garden, UP Diliman, Quezon City from 3 pm until 10 pm.
The event features various activities such as a whole day multimedia exhibit from various NGOs and government agencies, food bazaars and a musical tribute concert focusing on the global theme for this year’s celebration which is “Connecting People with Nature.”
Highlights include the symbolic human chain formation creating a “leaf” pattern which will be participated by hundreds of people from various sectors of society.
“I am truly excited for our Foundation to join this human formation because this is our first time to experience something like this. It is good for the young people to engage in this kind of outdoor activity so they can experience nature up close,” muses Lou Bonnevie, President of Earthday Jam Foundation, Inc. and organizer of the event. “This is part of our continuing environmental information- educational campaign, targeting the youth and urging them to go out,” continues Bonnevie.
The anticipated music concert tribute that will take place right after the ceremonies will feature Autotellic, Bayang Barrios, Chicosci, EbeDancel, Gloc 9,Lou Bonnevie, Mayonnaise with the special participation of the UP StreetDance Club, UP Dance Company and the Up PEP Squad with Midi Gentica, Pam Nieva and RoxyMontealegre as event hosts.
