8888 Complaint Hotline and 911 Emergency Hotline Set to be Available by August

For the past few months, talks of President Rodrigo Duterte’s plans have been circulating all over the country. Two of the things that we’ve been waiting for the most, though, have been the hotlines to call in case of complaints and emergencies.

While some people have laughed and dismissed these plans as ‘fake rumours’ (since 8888 is currently most commonly associated with Globe Telecom promos), it seems that these plans are actually coming to fruition.

In fact, according to Malacañang Palace Communications Chief Martin Andanar, these hotline numbers are expected to be available as soon as August. (Source: ABS-CBN) 8888 will be the number to call for complaints and 911 will be the number to call for emergencies, replacing the current emergency hotline 117.

Here’s to hoping the complaints given to 8888 will actually be acted upon. Fingers crossed!
