Widely visited by students around the Vito Cruz area, Duke’s Coffee Place is named appropriately. This spot’s coffee–particularly the Oreo Frappe and Hazelnut Mocha–is an absolute must-try. Duke’s has a cozy ambiance, with comfy seats on the first floor and a balcony-styled setting on the second floor.  There’s a wide selection of food available, from Korean bibimbap to a wide variety of sandwiches and pasta.

Best for: Hardcore studying

If you need to get some hardcore studying done before finals or midterms then Gowens Coffee is a great spot. The quiet and focused ambiance perfectly fits all-nighters so you will normally find many people with a book or stacks of readings. There’s also free Wi-Fi if you need to do research for your papers. They have a wide selection of yummy sandwiches, pastries, and pasta dishes along with budget-friendly coffee to fuel your cramming session.

It takes a walk down a long, narrow aisle decorated with stylish, artsy decor to get to Cafe Zen’s spacious interior. With its big tables and bright lighting, it’s the perfect spot to get some work done with your group for class. You’ll find many groups in deep discussions or typing sessions for their next thesis deadline in this spot. Also, they have free Wi-Fi as long as you buy something from their wide selection of food and drinks.

Best for: Night owls

CoreonGate is actually comprised of two parts–an internet shop on the second floor and a cafe with Korean-themed desserts and coffee on the ground floor. Both floors come with blazing fast internet. The upstairs has PC rentals by the hour, and the ground floor lets you have six hours of internet for every drink you buy. Their menu features a wide selection of shakes, coffee drinks, and their signature Korean bingsu. It’s also open 24 hours, so it’s perfect for night owls finishing papers or getting work done into the wee hours of the night.
