One of my goals for 2017 is to lose weight. I’m pretty sure a lot of our readers share the same goal, and we’re all doing different things to reach our dream weight. Some of us go to the gym, while others follow exercise videos on YouTube. What we all have in common is how we moderate our eating habits. But did you know that there are some food and drinks that help us lose weight? Yes, it doesn’t make sense, but it’s true!
Many of us see food as the enemy to weight loss, but there are products that help you fight fat and battle the pounds. Here are some of them:
This tasty snack is high in soluble fiber, which means you will feel full longer. Soluble fiber also works as a sweep that goes through your digestive tract to flush out excess fats and toxins. It’s also packed with protein, which helps build muscle! Oatmeal is delicious on its own, but you can add fruits, nuts, and granola to make it more exciting.
2. Apple Cider Vinegar
The best part about apple cider vinegar is that it’s versatile and can be used anywhere. It can be used as salad dressing or vinaigrette. Some people even dilute it in water then drink it. In fact, studies have shown that drinking apple cider vinegar with a meal can make people feel full faster (thanks to apple’s pectin content). The science behind this is that apple cider vinegar stimulates digestion and the breakdown of fat cells.
Like oatmeal, tuna is loaded with protein, making it a favorite of fitness enthusiasts and bodybuilders. Tuna is also lean meat, which means there’s less fat. If you’re going to eat tuna for its protein, make sure to eat canned tuna in water, not oil.
4. Green tea
Green tea helps in burning fat and boosting the metabolism. At the same time, tea has other benefits like flushing toxins, improving brain function, decreasing stress, reducing your risk for cancer, and protecting your brain in old age. Because of its fat burning properties, green tea is present in many weight loss supplements, like FatOut, which uses green tea and psyllium husk in their Sweep and Shred formula, a method that cleanses the colon of toxins and trims down fat.
5. Fruits and vegetables
Obviously, fruits and vegetables are important ingredients to a healthy diet. Both fruits and vegetables are low in calories and carbohydrates, but high in fiber. Leafy greens like lettuce, kale, and spinach also have vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants that can keep you healthier, while cruciferous vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower, and broccoli are high in protein. Fruits are also high in fiber, and are called nature’s dessert. It’s a healthy alternative to processed sugar!
