5 of My Favorite Things about “Star Wars: The Last Jedi”

Having been a huge Star Wars fan since I was a child, it should come as no surprise that I waited for ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ with the utmost excitement and the greatest expectations. Maybe that was wrong. But having been a bit disappointed by the second trilogy that came out and then being incredibly surprised by both ‘The Force Awakens’ and ‘Rogue One’, you can’t really blame me.

Well, while the movie was indeed action-packed, it was also very… different. That’s all I’ll really say so as not to spoil anything. Here are also 5 of the things that I LOVED about the movie.

5 of My Favorite Things about “Star Wars: The Last Jedi”

5. The Porgs

Being an aficionado of all things fluffy and cute, I first fell in love with porgs when I first saw them on the Internet. Seeing them on the big screen, however, amped up my love for them even more. They. Are. Adorable.

I know some people don’t agree with me on this… In fact, most of the cast members of ‘The Last Jedi’ don’t agree with me on this, but I, for one, am gonna be one of the suckers buying all of the adorable porg merchandise that is sure to come out soon. MAY THE PORGS BE WITH YOU.

4. The Soundtrack

Let’s face it: Star Wars never lets us down with their soundtracks, in general. Amirite or amirite?

3. Canto Bight

The first time I set eyes on Canto Bight in ‘The Last Jedi’, I fell in love. I have a thing for shiny thing, bright lights, and casinos; and I love the ‘Great Gatsby’ vibe I got from this place.

2. The Cameos

Justin Theroux aside, I didn’t really know there were a lot of cameos in ‘The Last Jedi’ until a friend of mine pointed it out to me. And by gosh, were there a lot!

Joseph Gordon Levitt

In case you missed it, here is a list of some of the notable cameos that you should watch out for in case you decide to watch the movie again: Justin Theroux, Lily Cole, (both are easy to spot), Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Prince Harry, Prince William, Tom Hardy, Taboo from The Black Eyed Peas (though the last 4 were all Stormtroopers, so I’m not sure you’ll be able to spot them :p).

1. The R2-D2 Scene

There are several times when I teared up while watching ‘The Last Jedi’, but there was only one that really made me ugly-cry: the scene where Luke asks R2-D2 why he should go back. R2’s response? The hologram of Princess Leia in ‘A New Hope’.

Huhuhu. THE BUCKETS OF TEARS WERE SO REAL.
