5 Disney Channel Shows You Watched If You Were A Kid In The ’00s

Don’t judge me, but I suddenly had a massive wave of nostalgia when I came across this video:

I LOVED Disney Channel back in the mid-2000s, and this song was basically life. Stars of all shapes, colors, and sizes, and quality entertainment shows that provided some low-key life lessons to children. It’s nice to see that the stars in this video have all moved forward years later: the Sprouse twins just got their college degrees from NYU, and Cole currently stars as Jughead on the show “Riverdale”; Ashley Tisdale went on to become a household name after High School Musical, and is now married and owns her own production company, “Blondie Productions”; Anneliese van der Pol is on Broadway; Aly Michalka was on Easy A, Raven is still Raven, and so forth.

So if you’re from the same generation as I am (I’m now in my 20s), here are some Disney Channel shows we loved watching in the ’00s:

5. Even Stevens

Even Stevens was about the Stevens family in California, with the story focusing on Louis and Ren Stevens — the comical black sheep and the seemingly perfect overachiever, respectively.

Notable cast: Shia LaBeouf and Christy Carlson Romano played Louis and Ren Stevens. Shia went on to make some Hollywood blockbusters like Indiana Jones and Transformers, while Christy is a new mom, having given birth to a baby girl in December!

4. The Suite Life of Zack and Cody

The Suite Life of Zack and Cody is about twins Zack and Cody Martin, who live in the posh Tipton Hotel where their mom is a lounge singer, and get up to all sorts of antics.

Notable cast: Dylan and Cole Sprouse played Zack and Cody, and after the sequel, Suite Life on Deck wrapped up, the two headed to New York University where Dylan got a degree in video game design and Cole graduated with an archaeology degree. Not at all unlike their TV personas. Meanwhile, Brenda Song went on to star in The Social Network and Ashley Tisdale became a star of her own, after rising to fame in High School Musical.

3. Phil of the Future

The Diffy family are from the year 2121, and after a time-traveling vacation goes awry, they are stuck in the past (our present), and are forced to fit in.

Notable cast: Ricky Ullman played the titular character Phil, who was adorkably cute, while Aly Michalka was Keely, Phil’s best friend-turned-girlfriend. Aly went on to star in Easy A, while Ricky is the total hipster living it up in Brooklyn, with some indie roles and his own podcast.

2. Lizzie McGuire

Lizzie McGuire is a teen who dreams to fit in and be popular at school, with the help of her best friends Miranda and Gordo.

Notable cast: Lizzie McGuire was played by Hilary Duff. Enough said.

1. That’s So Raven

That’s So Raven focuses on Raven Baxter, a teen who has visions.

Notable cast: Raven Symone is still around, while Anneliese van der Pol went on to star in Broadway.
