Five days after his death, the COVID-19 test result of veteran actor Domingo “Menggie” Cobarrubias showed that he was positive for coronavirus.
The 66-year-old actor passed away on Thursday, March 26 due to complications from pneumonia.
According to a previous Facebook post by his friend and fellow actor Lui Quiambao Manansala, Cobarrubias was in critical condition on Wednesday, March 25 while waiting for his test results to be released.
His wife, Gina, confirmed that they received the official coronavirus test results on Tuesday, March 31 from St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig, according to ABS-CBN.
Gina is currently waiting for her own test results. She is confined at the New Era Hospital in Quezon City.
