4 Ways to Maintain Healthy (and Beautiful) Skin

Many people think that beautiful skin means that the skin looks pleasing to the eye. However, the deeper truth about beautiful skin is having skin that is healthy and free of bacteria, pimples, whiteheads and blackheads. In order to achieve healthy skin, it is necessary to take measures that help in getting that glow back. Here are some fps that might help:

4 Ways to Maintain Healthy (and Beautiful) Skin

4. Handle stress well.

You might not realize this, but getting stressed isn’t the only thing that can wreak havoc on your skin. The way you deal with stress can play a factor, too. If you handle stress in a calm and collected manner instead of blowing up and aggravating yourself and your skin, you won’t make matters worse – and you’ll be doing your skin a favour, too.

3. Sleep right.

How many times have you told yourself you’d go to sleep at a certain time just to find yourself working longer than expected, watching more episodes of your TV show than expected or partying until the wee hours of the morning?

If your goal is to have better skin, you need to sleep better and that means sleeping 6-8 hours every night (and preferably at decent hours, too!).

2. Eat healthy.

Junk food and chocolates are just some of the foods that my friends always tell me cause their breakouts. While I’m not entirely sure if there’s any truth to that, it wouldn’t hurt to eat healthier, in general. Add more fruits and vegetables to your diet and avoid eating too much fast food, no matter how much more convenient it might be to do so.

Whenever I am out of town or just in my neighborhood, I always get excited when I spot local cafes and restaurants that have healthy menu options. As a fan of healthy eating, I almost jumped for joy when I passed by an interesting wooden green door in a not so narrow street in Davao City. As I entered the door, white wooden chairs and tables, as well as a capiz chandelier welcomed me. To begin with, Sea Green Cafe only serves a pescatarian diet; meaning no beef, chicken, or pork. (Don't frown yet, meat eaters.) The cafe also uses local, fresh, and organic ingredients to make up a hearty and healthy meal.

1. Take Vitamin E supplements.

Vitamin E does not only help maintain the skin’s youthful glow, but also helps maintain the functions of the blood vessels, the brain and the nervous system. It also strengthens the immune system and promotes good eyesight. Lastly, it helps prevent cancer, heart disease and stroke.

I’ve personally been taking Vita-E by ATC Healthcare with hopes of getting better skin out of it. Vitamin E, in general, benefits the body greatly and protects the cells from the harmful effects of free radicals. Being a good antioxidant, this vitamin also maintains the radiance and glow, which results in even healthier skin despite too much sun exposure.
