23-year-old Ninio Fetalvo, a Filipino-American, was appointed as assistant press secretary of the White House under Trump’s administration.
Fetalvo graduated with a degree in political communication at George Washington University, and had previously worked as the communications director in Florida for the Republican National Committee and as Asian Pacific American press secretary and spokesman, according to the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
According to the report, Fetalvo was appointed by US Press Secretary Sean Spicer, after the former went aboard as a member of the presidential inaugural committee handling media affairs.
Fetalvo was quoted, saying:
“It’s truly a very humbling experience. It’s a real honor to work on behalf of our country and the American people. I’m really excited to see what President Trump and Vice President [Mike] Pence accomplish to truly make the country great again.”
