School officials, librarians, teachers, professionals, reviewers, tutors, and book enthusiasts will gather for the 22nd Philippine Academic Book Fair, the annual five-day event sponsored by the Academic Booksellers Association of the Philippines (ABAP) on June 20-23 at the Megatrade Hall 1, 5th Level, Building B, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.
Exhibitors include Alexan Commercial, Aquarian Books and Novelties, Ateneo de Manila University Press, Book Trends Enterprises, C&E Publishing, CD Books International, Cengage Learning, Creative Mind Books Center, F&J De Jesus, Fastbooks Educational Supply, Felnor, and Forefront Book Co.
Also joining the book fair are Golden Books Services, IBC Book Consolidators, Linar Educational Materials, Manila Bulletin Corp., Megatexts Philippines, Mind Mover Publishing House, Paulines, Phoenix Educational Systems, Inc., Reader’s Knowledge Bookstore, Rex Book Store, University of the Philippines Press, and YFE Worldwide Logistics.
Seminars slated at the Philippine Academic Book Fair include: “The Future of Education” by Sr. Felicitas Bernardo, SPC (June 21, 1-5pm) hosted by the Academic Booksellers Association of the Philippines (ABAP); “Ethics of Librarians” by Ms. Elizabeth Peralejo (June 22, 10 am -12:30 nn) hosted by Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI) – free for PLAI members, P150 for non-PLAI members and P50 for undergraduate students (please bring validated school ID); and REX Classroom of the Future (June 22, 1-5 pm) hosted by Rex Book Store, Inc..
Aside from the seminars, the event will showcase Break Time: Teachers’ Appreciation Day on June 23, from 1 pm to 5 pm, to acknowledge teachers for their hard work in education. Various special activities in health and personality development, as well as raffles and giveaways await teachers.
