It was back in 2015 when Marty Buragay first got hooked into the “cardio party” that is indoor spinning and hasn’t stopped since. “I love how it inspires me to become a better version of myself,” he shares.

It’s that drive that eventually pushed him to be an instructor at the studio. “As an instructor, I’d love to spread that same act by inspiring and motivating others too. On and off the podium, I now have the opportunity to fully embody what Electric means to riders both new and old. I can now create that safe space, that invitation to an emotional journey where they can be themselves and get better each time — just as how I was inspired and motivated when I was a rider.”

When he isn’t on the bike, he works a day job at Facebook. He also regularly does CrossFit and yoga and joins obstacle races.

And although he admits that he might have been the worst student in class that day, he walked away knowing he fell instantly in love with the bike. Now, he’s been an instructor for three years at Ride Revolution and is also currently the head of Instructor Training and Development.

“I decided to teach it because, after a few months of riding, I realized it’s more than just a workout; it’s also about changing lives,” he says. “Not to mention, the community we’ve built just lifts each other up and in this crazy world we have, all the more we need a safe space for us to help each other grow and build a community that helps each other. Being able to guide them as an instructor to achieve their goals is probably one of the best feelings in the world.”

“I just love how this job is a vessel in making people make the impossible possible. To let people not just reach for the stars but be stars themselves and to make their physical, emotional, and mental health a priority and not just a choice,” he adds.

I am the shyest person you will ever meet but Electric helped me transform a room into a party. I’m no singer nor dancer but when I’m on that podium, I am everything I want to be.”

Miko Carreon has been a spinning instructor for only six months but has always been into fitness. He shares that he has been trying different types of workouts but none could ever compare to how indoor cycling made him feel. “Maybe [it’s] because I’m a dancer [and] that’s why I enjoyed it too much because indoor cycling involves movement and music. So basically it’s just like dancing but on the bike,” he says.

Though he has been to several cycling studios, it’s PERIGON which ultimately felt like home to him. Now, he’s happy to be able to teach the workout that he enjoys the most.

“The best part of this job is actually having the podium to inspire people and change lives for the better. Seeing a PERIGON rider’s progress just makes it extra special. Sharing the love and energy inside the bike room and powering through and through in every song is the best feeling for me that’s why I super enjoy this job,” he adds.
