2 Pinoys Named In Forbes Asia List!

Two Pinoys landed on Forbes Asia Magazine’s 2016 “Heroes of Philanthropy”, which is a yearly list by Forbes Magazine to recognize those with remarkable philanthropic efforts across Asia, dedicating their lives to generous donations.

One of them is 80-year-old Geronimo de los Reyes, chair emeritus of Gateway Property Holdings Inc. and Gateway Business Park.His foundation, Geronimo Berenguer de los Reyes Jr. Foundation Inc, has been providing scholarships and supporting research development since 1995. De los Reyes also built a museum displaying 19th century and early 20th century photos of Manila and the rest of the country depicting the Philippine Revolution, the Filipino-American War, and the Philippines at the turn of the century.

The other awardee is 50-year-old veterinarian Anton Mari Lim, for his efforts with the Yellow Boat Foundation, which he co-founded. The Yellow Boat Foundation ferried children from their mangrove village in Zamboanga, who used to swim going to school. Now, over 11,000 children benefit from 1,045 boats, five schools, and two dormitories, providing them better access to education.
