12-year-old ventriloquist blows Simon Cowell and judges away on “America’s Got Talent”

In an event reminiscent of Grace Vanderwaal’s memorable audition, a 12-year-old ventriloquist performed to a standing ovation in week 1 of “America’s Got Talent”!

Darci Lynne Farmer from Oklahoma told the judges that she “would really like to keep ventriloquism alive because it’s not common, you know?”

Darci’s puppet, an adorable bunny named Petunia, was a present from her mom to help her overcome extreme shyness.

And after just practicing ventriloquism for two years, Darci blew the judges away at her audition, with her puppet Petunia delivering a stunning rendition of the classic “Summertime”.

Darci and Petunia clearly wowed the panel of judges, including Tyra Banks, who made her “America’s Got Talent” debut.

The young ventriloquist was in tears at the end of her performance.

Judge Mel B gushed:

“You know what? I think your puppet I’m guessing is very much like you, charming and adorable. You make my heart melt, you were brilliant. I’m trying to describe how amazing it was.”

Mel B pressed the golden buzzer, instantly sending Darci to the semi-finals.
