The 12/12 Full Moon is a Special One. Here’s Why.

The full moon on 12/12 is a special one as it is the last full moon of the year. It’s not just the last full moon of the year, though; it is also the last full moon of the decade.

According to NASA, the December full moon will be at its fullest at 12:12AM Eastern Time.

Traditionally, December’s full moon has also been called the ‘Long Nights Moon’ or the ‘Full Cold Moon’ by Native Americans because it happens right before winter and rises on one of the longest nights of the year.

In 2020, the first full moon will rise on January 10, also known as the ‘Full Wolf Moon’.
