11 Cafes and Restaurants in Quezon City for Your Next Productive Study Session

Like many other students, I have difficulty concentrating. For one, there are endless sources of distractions: social media, phones, noise–not to mention bad procrastination habits! Sometimes, I’ve found that a change in environment really helps me to focus and get things done. This is why When in Manila is currently doing a series on conducive places to study in, and our first stop is Quezon City! We took into account the ambiance, the food, the (caffeinated!) drinks, and the small details that make a huge difference.

We asked the people behind these 11 cafés and restaurants a few questions that would hopefully help you in your quest for the best workplace!

– Bestsellers

Our bestsellers are our coffee and desserts. A lot of our guests are usually surprised that we also serve all-original savory dishes including sandwiches, pasta and mains.

All our products are made in-house. For the savory dishes, the bestsellers are The Sweet Spot Sliders, Porchetta Sandwich, Asahi Fish and Wasabi Fries as well as our Kung Pao pasta and the Crisped Beef Short Ribs. We serve specialty coffee. Espresso-based as well as filtered coffee are the bestsellers. These include lattes and cappuccinos. We only use graded arabica beans sourced from Brazil, Ethiopia, Indonesia as well as from Benguet. Some of customers prefer our cold drinks, including our smoothies and frappes. Our strawberry cobbler and strawberry mango smoothies as well as the Speculoos Cookie Butter Frappe and Banana Nutella Frappe are the cold beverage favorites. Our dessert favorites include, Reese’s Peanut Butter cake, Orange Rum cake, and all our cheesecakes.

– Gadgets

We do have WiFi. Customers are free to charge their gadgets. However, we request them to purchase items after a couple of hours.

– Why is The Sweet Spot a good place to study and work?

Our restaurant is relatively quiet, spacious and our seats are very comfy. Afternoons, you’ll usually find the cafe full of students who are studying or hanging out. The Sweet Spot is a very chill place. Even the songs on our playlist are carefully chosen to be chill.

– Why is Theo’s Cafe a good place to study and work?

The cafe is very conducive for studying and working because our tables and chairs are very comfortable. We have a laptop nook for students working on their own, banquette seating for barkadas, and a duyan for anyone who wants to relax and read a good book (or simply take a selfie). Our cafe is very well lighted, and we have inspiring quoted everywhere if you want to just sit down and make muni muni. It’s also a good place to make new friends and study buddies. We’ve had clients who come in alone but go out together, because we encourage a very friendly atmosphere among our crew and customers.

For food, tuyo pasta and truffle mushroom pasta. For hot drinks, salted hot chocolate and for cold drinks, iced mocha.

– Gadgets

They don’t have WiFi at the moment, but they will have it after their Grand Opening. Customers could charge their gadgets. Their communal table has sockets located underneath.

– Why is Books and Borders a good place to study and work?

The cafe was designed to inspire people to read and relax by using vibrant and comfortable chairs, books categorized by genre, and an extensive selection of food and drinks.

Open 7:00 am-12:00 am daily except for Fridays and Saturdays, when they’re open from 7am-2am
