4. Lead by example
It is said that one person is capable of influencing at least five others. This comes in handy when you’re trying to make a good impression at your new job. Instead of bashing your seatmate for always being late, show him the perks of always being on time (read: no memos and no pay deductions).
Embody the good values you want to see in the organization. Instead of preaching, practice it. Not only will you feel better about yourself, you will also build a respectable reputation.
3. Remember all your #lifegoals
No matter how fun a job may be, there will still be days when you’ll find yourself in a rut. On mornings when you find it hard (or harder) to get up, remind yourselves of your motivations for going to work. Think: three more days and sweldo naaaaa!
But no, seriously, go beyond the money and remember your goals. Why are you doing this? What is it that you want to achieve? It is for a dream house? Is it for you family? Are you saving up for a wedding or a grand vacation? Or you just want to make your mama proud? Whether it be long- or short-term goals, what’s important is that it gives you motivation and something to look forward to. Don’t forget the answer/s to “Para kanino ka bumabangon?” and continue to visualize those goals. You’ll immediately feel ready to go!
2. Have courage and become a better version of yourself everyday
Never ever stop learning. Attend seminars or lectures that will help you perform your job well. Take on bigger tasks and challenge yourself. As already mentioned:Â kailangan lumelevel-up.Â
1. Think how lucky you are to have a job and enjoy what you do
This and #3 are essentially the same. Remind yourself how lucky you are to have a paying job. And if you can’t love your job (because takot ka nang mag-mahal), at least learn to enjoy it.
We wish you good luck on your new job!Â
BONUS: Don’t be afraid to acknowledge if something isn’t working for you
