Cebu is popular for its dried mangoes aside from the lechon while Bohol is known for its peanut kisses. There are many beaches surrounding the Philippines so it is quite easy to find souvenirs made with sand or shells or both. The white powdery sand on beaches are sometimes collected and put in tiny bottles to bring home a small part of the summer paradise that you’ve visited. At times, shells are also used for this and placed in larger bottles.

Chocnut has Pinoy written all over it. It’s a small bar of sweets that almost all of us is familiar with. It is a sweet mixture ofย peanuts, milk, sugar, and cocoa powder. When you bite into it, it gives a nostalgic feeling of being a kid again, aside from its sugary almost peanut buttery taste.
As far as I remember, eating chocnut is a tough feat. The challenge is not to break the bar into crumbles since it easily does so. However, it is also not easy to swallow a whole small bar because there’s a chance of choking on it.
So, you have to be careful while devouring chocnut.
When traveling abroad, buying imported chocolate like M&M’s, Toblerone, Snickers, Cadbury, and others is the usual pasalubong you bring when you get back. But if you’re coming from the Philippines and traveling outside the country, chocnut is almost on the same page as these treats.
Flying back home from your trip in the Philippines? Keep the things on this list in mind. You might find them handy any time soon.
