The provincial government of Cavite is handling the monitoring of persons under investigation (PUIs). Governor Jonvic Remulla disclosed this March 12 that the baby is among the 11 PUIs under the local health care unit’s watch.

Remulla previously announced last March 10 that Cavite had confirmed its first COVID-19 case in the province. The patient was identified as a 48-year-old male Filipino seafarer from Imus City. He had recently returned after passing through Narita airport in Japan.

11 close contacts of the said patient then consulted various private hospitals in Cavite regarding possible infection. They are currently under self-quarantine after the contact tracing.
