Bataan’s local officials announced on Sunday that a 1-month-old baby boy from the town of Mariveles has tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Governor Albert Garcia said that the baby is the latest COVID-19 patient in the province. Bataan has recorded 21 other confirmed cases besides this. According to Garcia, it was not immediately known how the baby contracted COVID-19.
Garcia also mentioned that the provincial health office has recorded a total of 6 recoveries and 2 deaths from the disease.
Bataan currently has 124 patients under investigation (PUIs) and 3,575 persons under monitoring (PUMs).
