Star Wars is one of the world’s most successful media franchises, charming people since “a long, time ago in a galaxy far, far away.” Interest in the films has grown stronger since The Force Awakens and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and now we can’t wait for the upcoming The Last Jedi! To tide us over until its release next month, we can ride a TIE Silencer or an A-Wing when we book a ride with Grab!
Grab has partnered with the Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia and The Last Jedi to bring a unique experience for all its users. For every ride they take, they get the chance to win exclusive Star Wars merchandise, tickets to a private screening of The Last Jedi, and the grand prize: an all-inclusive trip for two to Rancho Obi-Wan, the world’s largest privately-owned Stars Wars memorabilia museum, located in San Francisco, California.
And it all starts with choosing between The Resistance and The First Order!
Each week, there will be battle challenges between the two sides, where the winning side will win special prizes.
Before joining the weekly battles, users must choose between crushing the resistance with a TIE Silencer or restoring the republic with an A-Wing. In Star Wars lore, the TIE Silencer is the starfighter of villain Kylo Ren, which he uses in the First Order’s war with the Resistance. On the other hand, the A-Wing is a starfighter used by the Rebel Alliance for reconnaissance and escort duty.
For the first battle from November 14 to 20, users must recruit friends to join their side. If the First Order wins, they get a chance to win a BB-9E Sphero Droid. If the Resistance wins, they can get a chance to win a BB8 Sphero Droid.
For the second battle on November 23, users must rally their troops by joining an in-app quiz. If the First Order scores higher, they get a chance to win a Star Destroyer LEGO set. If the Resistance scores higher, they get a chance to win a Resistance Bomber LEGO set.
For the final battle, five lucky passengers for the First Order and Resistance will battle it out for a chance to win the grand prize to Rancho Obi-Wan.
