It’s only been less than a week since its release in theaters, yet in an unsurprising turn of events, Wonder Woman is already confirmed to have a sequel!
Director Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot have officially signed on for a second film, and is moving on to a new key location. According to Jenkins:
“The story will take place in the U.S., which I think is right. She’s Wonder Woman. She’s got to come to America. It’s time.”
The film opened on Friday June 2, earning an outstanding record of $100.5 million in box office sales. DC has clearly won big with Wonder Woman, as the movie is currently the highest rated superhero film on Rotten Tomatoes. Wonder Woman also holds the record for bestselling opening for a movie directed by a woman. It’s clear as day: kickass females rule the box office with ease.
