“Wonder Woman 2” to Be Released in 2019!

Batman v Superman Wonder woman 2-opt

Wonder Woman is on a roll. Many are calling it the best DC Extended Universe film since The Dark Knight, and much of the praise has been heaped on Gal Gadot, the actress who plays the titular role. She’s beautiful, she’s charming (just check out all her interviews), and she can kick butt (she filmed Wonder Woman while five months pregnant). It’s breaking records, too: it has become the highest-grossing DCEU film in the US.

Given the critical and commercial success, a sequel is almost a certainty. It was announced that Diana Prince will be getting another film and that it will be released on December 13 2019!

The sequel’s timeline has not been confirmed, but it was revealed that it will be set in the past, just not in World War I like the first film. Warner Bros. head Toby Emmerich told Variety, “it will take place somewhere between 1917 and 2017.”

The first film’s director Patty Jenkins has not been announced the sequel’s director, but she’s already working on a treatment with DC head Geoff Johns. According to Johns, “The goal is to make another great Wonder Woman film. I had a blast making it with Patty the first time. We’ve got a cool idea for the second one.”

Jenkins announced that the sequel will be set in the United States.

I guess we’ll just have to wait for more announcements!
