I kept noticing a logo or picture of some guy with Aviators on. The guy looked really familiar and I’m reminded of my second grade history teacher screaming at me about him… then it hit me… well… actually it was my second grade teacher that hit me… but I still remember that backside of her hand next to my face like it was yesterday… Oh and the guy in the logo is Jose Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines, with a new look thanks to our friends at Team Manila.
The “I (cool Jose Rizal) PH” or “I Rizal PH” shirts and logos were getting just as popular as the “I (heart) NY” shirts. So I had to set out and meet these local design masters… We were invited to theTeam Manila offices where we met with two of their founders, Jowee Alviar and Mon Punzalan.
Upon arriving, you can tell right away that this wasn’t your typical office. It was more like a hub of creativity. There was just a sense of openness to the place that kinda felt like great ideas can just flow through you. Along with cool stuff everywhere, you’re sure to be inspired to create a cool new shirt, music video, graphic or even skateboard design…
