WATCH: Zombies Break Out in Medieval Korea in Upcoming Series ‘Kingdom’

Zombies are nothing new in the world of movies and TV shows. However, get set to see a different kind of zombie in the upcoming Netflix series ‘Kingdom’.

For starters, the series is set in medieval Korea, making the scenery and the costumes a notch higher than the zombie shows you might be used to. Secondly, the cast is amazing; and the plot and execution? Amazing! I was lucky enough to be able to watch the first two episodes of the series on a big screen in Singapore a few months back, and I was at the edge of my seat all throughout.

‘Kingdom’ revolves around a, well, kingdom defeated by corruption and famine where a mysterious plague spreads to turn the infected into monsters. The Crown Prince is framed for treason and desperately tries to save his people by setting out on a journey to find out what evil lurks in the dark.

‘Kingdom’ stars Ju Ji-hun, Bae Doona, Ryu Seung-yong, Kim Sang-ho, and Heo Joon-ho. It is directed by Kim Seong-hun and written by Kim Eun-hee.

‘Kingdom’ will be coming to Netflix this January 25, 2019.
