WATCH: We Discovered This Student A Cappella Group on YouTube and We’re Obsessed

There are many times when the most beautiful things are discovered by accident. For us, it was discovering the Brigham Young University (BYU) Vocal Point, a student a cappella group based in Utah, USA.

I discovered this group while watching the trailer for an upcoming movie on YouTube. If you’re familiar with the website’s interface, the right side of the page is dedicated to similar videos. I was watching the trailer of a sci-fi film, but for some strange reason, one of the recommended videos was an a cappella medley of Beauty and the Beast. I still have a hangover from the live-action adaptation and I’m a fan of Pitch Perfect, so I thought, why not?

It was beautiful. So beautiful that I didn’t even bother finishing the trailer. And I was sucked down a rabbit hole of awesomeness.

Watch the video of their medley of Beauty and the Beast below, featuring “Belle,” “Be Our Guest,” and “Beauty and the Beast.”

This isn’t their first Disney performance. They have also performed “Go the Distance” from Hercules and “When She Loved Me” from Toy Story 2.

They also have a cappella covers of pop songs, like a medley of One Direction’s “Drag Me Down” and Justin Bieber’s “As Long As You Love Me.”

Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are.”

And Michael Jackson’s “Beat It.”

And this amazing medley featuring 25 songs from the past 25 years, with current members and alumni of the Vocal Point:
